30 Day Art Challenge!

I participated in a 30 day art challenge when I decided to participate in Artini 2016, a fundraising event promoting AIDS Awareness.  It was a good experience for me because it made me do art without thinking about any pre-concept ideas.  I just let my imagination run wild, and in the end I hit upon a new idea that I can explore in my work.

Doing cut paper is such a meditative process.  You are literarily 'drawing' with the x-acto knife; creating the image by cutting away the negative space.  But I do go back to my roots in drawing.  I recently discovered Pentel brush pen where I can imitate painting with a brush, but with the precision and control of a pen.  I am totally addicted to it, and with using a Tombo blender marker pen, I can created different gradients in my drawing.
